What Overcoming Limiting Beliefs Really Looks Like
Tom Matousek didn’t start “going for it” until he was 44.
All of my writing started sounding like a whitepaper… about the least exciting photocopier, fax machine, or walkman you can think of. At least, it started sounding that way to me.
I blinked and found one day that the b2b world had completely zapped the playfulness from my writing.
By day, I build better systems for b2b marketing and sales teams — problem-solving for efficiency and effectiveness, mostly. My areas of expertise are in business strategy, content marketing, and revenue operations.
I’m passionate about helping people align purpose and process.
I like creating processes that support sustainable growth.
I’m good at building people-first cultures.
And… self development, experiential learning, travel, and the outdoors are interests of mine that took a backseat to “keeping the lights on” in day-to-day life.
Well, let’s fix that shall we?
It was a heart condition that hospitalized Tom Matousek.
“Staring at the ceiling, I’m thinking to myself, ‘alright, well, you got through it’. You know? Like, ‘bills are paid, kids are grown’. And, I thought, “you had a whole lifetime to create something — to do something special…and you didn’t even try’”.
Whatever you believe or don’t believe in, Tom goes on to say, “‘God gave me a talent, and I wasn’t using it’. So, I thought, ‘alright, well, I’m gonna go for it’”.
Tom’s a former engineer turned artist. He didn’t start “going for it” until he was 44. Now, at age 60, he works with Disney.
